HOME

Let's that state of illinos

I have always been told that the state of illinois has more government bodies than any other states. we are waiting for a virtually unknown, stupid waste of time and money test that will allow us to bring bryn home today. Poor deana has to have blood drawn and a lab test done and a result acheived today before they will let us leave.
If deana refuses, we will have to wait until tommorrow, and Bryn will have the test done.
I am very frustrated, and angered by this waste. Esp because I have to pay for this test!

Bryn's coming home.

Bryn gets to come home today. we should pick her up about 3 or 4.

Sunday..We are One week Old!

Brent is home and doing well. Grandma stayed with him during church today. We got to see Peace Church's Childrens program 'The Big Big Story'. Connor got to sing.

Mom got a good nap today and some good sleep last night.

The doctor updated us (more concerned with mom's attempts to daily see her kids) on Bryn. Bryn looks to possibly come home mid-week. PRAY that this will occur. They took the feeding tube out and are transitioning her out of her isolete. Her 7 days of antibiotics should be complete tommorrow.

Bryn saturday update

The hospital has taken Bryn off of the oxygen support. They will monitor her to see if she does okay. The doctor confirmed last night that she probably was born immature lungs. Refer to the wiki link that i mentioned earlier this week.
Please pray for Deana and rest. She was able to get only a little rest last night trying to console Brent's every coo and cry.

The imrovements

Brent has progressed enough to be transfered to the pediatrician. We will wait to hear from them.

Bryn is nearly off the oxygen and her food intake is up. (25 ml) She has a noticable disagreement with wet diapers according to the nurse.

The nursery was much more like a nursery this morning. Nothing like five screaming upset boys (well, I'll let you guess the reason.)

Full names

We've gotten a couple of requests for the twins middle names.

Brent Richard & Bryn Eleanor

The middle names reflect the twins in the family on both sides of our family tree.

Brent is doing well. We just finished feeding him. We are just waiting for the doctors to finish up in the nursery. (they are a little more animated today. I think we've been here too much. )

Paging Dr. Anderson!

Here is the birthday boy with his little brother.

Thos little gowns on all of the boys. Brent is out of the isolete and is stable. (so far today) Bryn is being fed more.

Tanning!

This is Parkers 4th Birthday

The entire family sleeped better last night with Deana home. Parker woke up at roughly the same time he arrived four years ago. (glad that wasn't too early)

We arrived at the hospital about a half hour before feeding time. Brent is nearly off his isolete as he is holding his temp. They dropped the temp while Deana fed him. If he holds okay by 2, they will keep him outside in a regular cart. They will also increase his food. (Brent is Mr. Pokey when mom or dad feeds him.)

Bryn is going under the lights to help control the jaundice. Her level rose last night. (makes sense as you need to poo to get rid of it, and they held her off food for a day or two) They have lowered the oxygen and are increasing her food. The antibiotics will be continued.

We are expecting Bryn to be in at least 5 or more days.

Please pray for their health, and for all those who have leant a hand watching the boys, stopped by the hospital, brought meals, or otherwise are supporting us. May God bless you all.

Day 2 Pictures

Todays update

The twins are progressing slowly. Brent came off the antibiotics and the billirueben is low. They will wean him off the isolete today to determine if he can keep himself warm and still hold his weight.

Bryn is coming along as well. The breathing rate is slowly coming down to normal. The xrays still show fuzziness. Breathing is still a concern. She is increasing food by tube today.

Deana is getting discharged today. This is hard leaving them both. It is hard for Deana and I leaving the twins.

I took some more good pictures that I will post later. I really spent some time holding Bryn today. She is cute.

Bryn's Condition...

Here is the Wiki on Bryn's breathing. (At this is what I suspect)

WIKI LINK

More Pictures as promised!

As I promised:

(I think I need a better camera. The color is still bad after adjusting nearly all of them. I'll post video If I can figure it out...maybe after some sleep)

Bryn!

Brent

I've got better pictures that i'll upload when I get home tonite that I took with the Kodak camera. (these phone pics are small, easy to send to blogger, and quick.)
I got measurements today too. Bryn is 18 inches, brent @ 17.5. (i may have told some that he was 15.5. I don't think they stretched him out on a rack.)
I fed Brent a couple of ounces this morning. After I got to the hospital, I visited wth Deana and then spent some time with the kids. They let deana hold both after feeding brent. I teared up holding bryn for a quick moment, and picture that i'll post later. They are so small. We just need patience. They have so many milestones to reach, but are in great hands. The neonatologist's watchful eye is reasuring, and Dr Ruby stated she is the best. A very blessed lady with wonderful God given talents!

Update

I got a quick update from Deana by phone around 45 minutes ago. She has held little baby Bryn twice today after feeding Brent in the nursery. She is doing well. They have updated the lengths of both to 18 or so inches.
Deana is at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, IL.

Took a little while, but I didn't realize that the original posts were timestamped as if we were in Pacific Time.

The entire gang

The entire gang's first visit. Brent is allowed out for feedings otherwise he is in a isolete to keep him warm. Need to prevent him from trying to keep himself warm.(calorie and weight loss issue)

Bryn's camping

Little Bryn sleeping in the nursery under the watchful eye of the neonatologist.

Brent

Brent weighs in a 4 lbs 6 oz. He is about 15 and something inches long. His little sister, Bryn weighs in a 4 lbs 10 oz. She is on oxygen for breathing therapy. We haven't yet been given much access yet to her.
